On Monday we celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary. We were hoping to have lunch at a new restaurant and cocktail bar which is due to open in Colchester, but the planned opening has been put back, so we needed to find an alternative. We threw a few ideas around and in the end decided to go into London and have lunch at the Sky Garden bistro. We stopped off at Stratford on the way in and had a swim in the Olympic pool. It was Simon’s first visit and he absolutely loved it. After 25 lengths we’d built up enough of an appetite and continued our journey.
The Sky Garden is a fabulous venue with spectacular views of the capital. The food was excellent and we had a thoroughly wonderful lunch. I can highly recommend it.
On Tuesday, disaster struck. My large melting tank was no longer heating up, so I was down to one small tank and had to reschedule our entire weeks production. I had plenty of time to re-plan whilst waiting for the dark chocolate to come up to temperature but it’s been a very frustrating week because of it, with a lot more waiting around than usual! We investigated the issue and discovered the tank needed a new circuit board. It’s the same issue our other small tank developed just before Christmas, meaning the panic purchase of a replacement and an ‘I must sort that out at some point so that we have a spare’. Well that’ll teach me!! Two new circuit boards arrived on Thursday and Mr D fitted them over the weekend, meaning we’re now back on track. Phew!!
