Ruck and Maul

In between meetings, chocolate making and packing & wrapping we managed to get tickets for the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup last weekend. It was the first time I’d been to Twickenham, and what an awesome stadium that is. The crowd gave their all during the National Anthem, and Swing Low was belted out with regular gusto.

Twickenham

The journey home wasn’t the best experience, however. Issues at Twickenham station meant that they had to close the station and cancel the remaining trains. Already late in the evening, by the time we’d walked to the next station it was touch and go as to whether we’d make the last train to Colchester, which we duly missed. We weighed up the options and decided that a cab was the only way forward as we needed to be home for an early start on Saturday, and would be cheaper than trying to find hotel rooms for the night as well as additional train tickets for Saturday travel (ouch!).

Once we watched the coverage back over the weekend the nightmare of getting home faded and we could look back on a fabulous evening’s entertainment with some great rugby and a lot of singing.

So for the next few weeks we’ll be watching rugby coverage whilst we work, although everything did stop in total disbelief for the awesome performance of Japan beating South Africa!

This week we’ve had meetings with a few retailers, and also been to the annual Barry Callebaut Chocolatiers’ Day – a great opportunity to network and learn new techniques and taste new products including the Callebaut Hot Chocolate, which I can highly recommend.

Hilary Delamare

Choctails® was founded by husband and wife team Simon and Hilary Delamare. Simon's suggestion of putting cocktail flavours into chocolate took Hilary's chocolate-making hobby to new heights, until in May 2012, the decision was made to turn the hobby into a full time business. The domestic kitchen became a production factory by day, and the dining room was given up to become a place where hand-made chocolate is crafted
