Orange Whip? Orange Whip? Three Orange Whips

Whilst researching cocktail ideas this week, I discovered that the Orange Whip is in fact a cocktail. For years of watching the Blues Brothers I’ve imagined it to be some kind of an ice-cream type dessert. The fact that it’s a cocktail means that, naturally, we have to try it, and once tried, we have to try and make a choctail of it. It may or may not work, but you’d be surprised – or actually, you may not – at how many cocktails we’ve tried to making into a choctail over the years. Some are immediately rejected. Some are filed in the ‘needs a lot of development’ section – the Negroni being one of these. Others are filed in the ‘needs a collection building around it’ section, so when it comes to creating a seasonal range, we already have a list we can build on.

So … it being a chilly Sunday afternoon, I’m off to mix a couple of Orange Whips and settle down with the Blues Brothers for a couple of hours whilst I plan next week’s schedule.
