This week we’ve had a couple of urgent orders to fulfill and I’ve been starting preparations for our next show at the end of the month. We’re doing a 4-day show at RHS Hyde Hall, so we need to be prepared with plenty of stock, especially chocolate bars. I work on an average of 5 of each variety per day for events like this, so we’ve been kept pretty busy all week.
Today I’ve spent the day at the World Endurance Championship six hours of Silverstone race for my birthday treat. It’s been a fantastic day, which started at 5:30am. We listened to the coverage of the Chinese Formula One GP on the radio on the way up, before we arrived at the circuit, so it’s been non-stop racing all day.
We spent some time at the Becketts grandstand until we got cold and needed to get moving again. We also spent a good portion of time at the back of the paddock, grabbing the occasional quick word with some of the drivers in between their stints on track. We ended up at the Club grandstand for the last 2 hours of the race, and also got a good view of the podium.
I was given a copy of the Bake of Creme de la Creme book for my birthday, which I’m very much looking forward to diving into. But right now, it’s time to watch the frantic Chinese GP action and enjoy a couple of glasses of Champagne.
