I’ve spent a couple of weeks on an enforced break for the most part, whilst we’ve had some work done on the house. It’s impossible to keep the kitchen in a hygienic state with workmen around, so I’ve been forced to do small amounts of work early in the morning or late at night to fulfil any unplanned orders and in the meantime I’ve been finding other things to keep me occupied, such as year-end accounts – not the most fun in the world, but a real sense of achievement at getting them done; a trip to the O2 to see Take That in concert – that was one phenomenal stage show; a local charity barn dance – reliving something I used to do a lot in my younger years; and a couple of pub lunches thrown in for good measure – something I do very rarely these days.
Now it’s back to work with a vengeance, as preparation for Christmas can begin in earnest and stock levels will slowly rise over the next few weeks in anticipation of retail orders and the annual Christmas shows.
