As March draws to a close it’s time for us to get back on the road as show season is about to kick off. I was tempted to take a stand at the York Chocolate Festival over Easter, but decided against it in the end, in order to spend a Bank Holiday weekend with family and friends.
Our first show of 2016 is the Framlingham Country Show and Suffolk Food Fair (http://www.framcountryshow.co.uk/) on 9-10 April at Framlingham College. I’m looking forward to getting out and about again, and this week we’ve been planning displays and beginning to get stock ready. It’s always difficult to know what’s going to sell and what’s not, so we work to a plan of 10 of everything. Depending on the show we allow 10 for the weekend for smaller shows and 10 per day for larger events and it seems to work reasonably well. Yes, we always sell out of something and wish we’d brought more, but as it’s never the same thing from show to show, then it makes it impossible to second guess. It also makes stock taking a heck of a lot easier when we get back!
With Easter just around the corner we’ve been coming up with ideas for next Easter and our Easter Specials. The Easter Eggs have done well this year, and we’ve had some good feedback on our Spring Specials collection, so we’ll take that into account when we’re planning what to do in 2017.
