I picked up a lead at last year’s Speciality & Fine Food Fair for a major retailer, which I thought would come to nothing. We exchanged emails and samples were sent out and then I heard nothing more.

Until this week.

If this comes off I’m going to have a very busy summer.

We’ve had a bonus bus trip this weekend. A local band I followed in my teenage years were re-forming for one final concert in Barnsley, so we spent Friday evening with me feeling like a teenager again! After a Saturday morning parkrun, we went to visit my godmother, who cooked us a splendid lunch. We then headed over to Boston for our second stop. Our fab friend Jason was running the Boston marathon with his brother Ben, so with us being up north, we decided to extend the weekend and go to cheer them on. The boys did great and we cycled around the route to cheer them on at various points. I think Simon was getting a bit wistful at the idea of running a marathon on very flat terrain …

Choctails® was founded by husband and wife team Simon and Hilary Delamare. Simon's suggestion of putting cocktail flavours into chocolate took Hilary's chocolate-making hobby to new heights, until in May 2012, the decision was made to turn the hobby into a full time business.
