This has been a weekend which needed some careful logistical planning ….
First up, we were at the Essex Fine Food Fair at Chelmsford Racecourse. We were hoping that at the second year of running we were going to have a better year of sales, but sadly not. Things started well and the Saturday morning crowd were there to spend – so much so that I had to call back to base for extra stock – which we then failed to sell …. Everything slowed down to a grinding halt and we just about broke even for the weekend.
On Saturday evening we were invited to the wedding celebration of Simon’s cousin in London, so I had to be ready to go the minute the show closed. We left the van on site and Simon sped us to a nearby hotel for a quick change and then we frog-marched each other to the venue. Phew! After a fabulous evening of eating, drinking and dancing we had to be up early for a quick breakfast before speeding back to the racecourse for Sunday trading … with a hangover ….
I may have a gentle day tomorrow to compensate 😉
