Can’t Stop The Blue Tie Feeling

We’ve had a busy week, and not really had time to catch our breath until now!

My Facebook timeline counts me ever closer to Christmas, with a mild feeling of panic on a daily basis. Weekends are all booked up with shows. This means that kitchen time is at a premium and we have to make the most of every second of the day, so the pace gets faster as we work – we’ll be at full sprint by the end of the month.

We did, however, manage an evening out this week and attended the Blue Tie Ball, organised by the team at Small Business Saturday. Wow, what a fabulous event it was. It was great to mix with such a large volume of like-minded entrepreneurs, and what a bunch of fabulously individual eccentrics we all are! The event itself was beautifully organised and we were well fed and well watered throughout the evening, which meant we were a little jaded on Friday morning. The music was great and much dancing ensued, with “Can’t Stop The Feeling” filling the dance floor immediately the meal was finished. To find out more about Small Business Saturday, check out the website

Over the weekend we’ve been helping my stepson move into his new flat in Kingston Upon Thames, which meant an early Sunday start to drive a van load of furniture across London and then back home after a late lunch on the banks of the Thames in the late summer sunshine. We’re now enjoying cheese on toast and a glass of chilled Sauvignon and trying not to wonder where the last seven days disappeared.

Hilary Delamare

Choctails® was founded by husband and wife team Simon and Hilary Delamare. Simon's suggestion of putting cocktail flavours into chocolate took Hilary's chocolate-making hobby to new heights, until in May 2012, the decision was made to turn the hobby into a full time business. The domestic kitchen became a production factory by day, and the dining room was given up to become a place where hand-made chocolate is crafted
