It was another sneaky day off for us on Monday. Choctails entered a team at the Billy Monger charity kart race. Simon Delamare and George Turner made up the driver lineup and finished a respectable 11th against some very fast youngsters.
Billy was an absolute hero all evening. You could see him feeling a little wistful at not being able to drive, but he remains unbelievably positive about his future in racing and is an extremely eloquent and personable young man. Everyone here is fully supportive and excited about potential projects and we’re hoping to see him at Le Mans in the not too distant future.
During the week I had dinner with Helen, a close family friend who is now Network Editor at BBC Radio 2. Given that Radio 2 is on in the Choctails kitchen all day I’ve become a bit of a focus group for Helen these days, in between catching up over family gossip.
