Needless to say, Choctails has had to take a back seat this week. I spent a couple of days in Yorkshire with my brother and sister sorting through Dad’s house. That’s been an experience! One minute we’re despairing at the piles of paperwork to sort through, the next we’re in fits of giggles at finding something from our childhood!
We’ve investigated his extensive wine collection to discover it’s mainly German and Hungarian and all far too sweet for our palates. However, after some discussion with Mr. D we have decided it would probably make a reasonable Sangria, or a good base for a summer punch. I’ll let you know how we get on with that …..
By the weekend I was in dire need of blowing a few cobwebs away – both figuratively and literally, as Dad hasn’t been too enthusiastic about housework over recent years. And so, to the Olympic park where Mr D had had the foresight to purchase tickets to AC-DC for Saturday’s gig. We had a slap-up meal at Levi Roots restaurant (once again, I forgot to photograph the food….) and then rocked out to some classic heavy rock. And by the way, Axl Rose smashed it as front man. He’d checked his ego in on the way to the stage and his broken foot was only a slight hindrance as he strode up and down the stage – he couldn’t quite do his whirling dervish routine of old, but in all honesty, it’s all about Angus. Top night.
