This week it was the World Chocolate Forum, organised by Kennedys at the British Library. Yet again I came away with an armful of knowledge and new ideas. I also had a meeting at the Old Vic followed by an afternoon on Oxford Street and an evening out in London, so there’s been some down time in amongst the sea of chocolate.
Over the weekend we were at the West Street Vineyard Food & Drink Festival. The weather was absolutely wonderful on both days, so people attending could relax in the sunshine with local beers, live music and a fantastic selection of street food, before heading into the marquee to browse the food & drink stalls. The organisation was superb and the event well advertised so therefore well attended and we were more than happy with the weekend’s sales.
This year we’re testing out our Festive collection Advent Calendar to see how it goes down with the public and early indications are that it’s an idea worth pursuing more seriously next year. I’m really pleased with our festive dozen and the flavour combinations we’ve come up with – I’m particularly proud of how the Sherry Trifle and Blackberry Cheesecake have turned out and really must stop quality checking them …..
